Emergency Department

Our Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing triage, resuscitation and urgent care for patients of all ages.

  • 24/7 laboratory and radiology support

Emergency admission process

  1. Call the emergency number or bring the patient to the Emergency Department.
  2. Triage — a nurse assesses the urgency of the patient's condition.
  3. Treatment — urgent care is provided; critical patients are stabilized first.
  4. Admission or referral — if needed, the patient is admitted or referred to the appropriate department.
  5. Registration — family completes registration; bring ID / hospital number if available.

When to seek emergency care

  • Chest pain, difficulty breathing or severe shortness of breath
  • Loss of consciousness, confusion or sudden weakness
  • Severe bleeding that does not stop
  • Severe injury, fractures or suspected spinal injury
  • High fever with convulsions, especially in children
  • Danger signs in pregnancy: severe abdominal pain, bleeding or reduced fetal movement
  • Severe dehydration with inability to keep fluids down
Important: In a life-threatening emergency, call first, then arrange transport. Bring any medicines and previous medical records you have.
